Moody’s Rating Agency upgrades Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. rating.

The Management Board of Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. hereby publishes the rating decision issued by Moody’s Rating Agency.

On 21st May 2015 Moody’s has upgraded the Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. long-term deposit rating to A3 from Baa1 due to the Advanced LGF analysis that provides two notches of uplift from the Bank’s adjusted BCA of baa2 (BCA is baa3) and offsets reduced government support assumptions.

In Agency opinion Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. benefits from a large volume of deposits, and limited senior and subordinated debt, resulting in very low loss given failure.

Agency outlines that because of the expected implementation of resolution legislation, Moody’s has lowered its government support assumptions for Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. to “low”, leading to no uplift from support, from “high” and one notch previously.

Now the Moody’s Ratings for Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. are as follows:

Deposit ratings: A3/P-1

BCA: baa3

Adjusted BCA: baa2

Outlook: stable

CR Aseessment: A2 (cr)/ P-1 (cr)
